Perth expansion project

From Vision to Vertical Expansion: The Making of Perth House

Adding a second story to an existing home is one of residential construction’s more intricate tasks. It demands a solution that is structurally sound, minimally disruptive, and respectful of the original building’s integrity. The Perth House project, a second-story addition in Western Australia, illustrates how modern building systems are specifically suited to meet these challenges.

The goal was to create approximately 115.6 square meters of new, light-filled living space atop a single-level structure. The design prioritized comfort and functionality, allocating room for three bedrooms and two bathrooms. A central feature is the living area’s expansive glazing, utilizing aluminum-framed double glazing to flood the interior with natural light while ensuring thermal efficiency—a crucial consideration in Perth’s climate.

The success of such a project hinges on the building method. For Perth House, a light-gauge steel frame was the logical choice. Its high strength-to-weight ratio meant the new level could be added without placing excessive load on the existing foundations. Perhaps more importantly, the precision of prefabricated panelized components allowed for a swift and clean assembly process. Major construction phases were completed off-site in our facility; wall and floor cassettes were then delivered and efficiently installed, significantly reducing on-site time, noise, and debris—a major benefit for the homeowners.

The principle remains the same: by shifting the most complex fabrication to a quality-controlled factory environment, we provide builders with predictable, high-performance components that streamline the entire construction process.

DEEPBLUE SMARTHOUSE: Enabling Builders with Integrated Solutions

This end-to-end involvement, governed by standards such as ISO 9001 and supported by specific product evaluations (ICC-ES), allows us to guarantee the performance of the materials we supply. For builders and developers, this translates into reduced risk, reliable scheduling, and the confidence that comes with a fully engineered structural system. We focus on delivering the foundational excellence upon which exceptional projects are built.
