About the Perth House Project
The Perth House project involved a residential addition for a client in Perth, Western Australia. The scope of work was to add a full second-story living space onto an existing single-level structure.
Designed as a comfortable living area, the new floorplan provides approximately 115.6 square meters of functional space within a 15 by 12 meter footprint. It includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The living room features a large glass window wall fitted with energy-efficient aluminum-framed double glazing, ensuring the space is filled with natural light while maintaining thermal comfort.

The choice of a light-gauge steel frame system was pivotal for this type of addition. Its inherent strength and relatively lightweight nature made it an ideal structural solution, minimizing the load impact on the existing foundation and walls while allowing for efficient construction and flexible layout planning.
DEEPBLUE SMARTHOUSE: Delivering Specialized Solutions
The Perth House exemplifies the type of specialized project DEEPBLUE SMARTHOUSE is equipped to handle. As a supplier and manufacturer with in-house design and engineering capabilities, we focus on providing practical building systems for defined project needs.
Our panelized system is designed for versatility. It can be effectively adapted to a wide range of residential projects, from single-family homes and duplexes to multi-unit dwellings and commercial structures.
The core benefit lies in its method. By manufacturing wall, floor, and roof panels in our factory under controlled conditions, we achieve consistent quality and precision. This translates to a faster, more predictable on-site assembly process for builders, regardless of the final home style or project scale. The system provides a solid, efficient structural framework that accommodates various architectural finishes and interior layouts, offering a practical balance of speed, control, and adaptability for diverse construction needs.
For additions and multi-story projects, our light steel frame system offers distinct advantages. The precision of factory-prefabricated components allows for faster on-site assembly and reduces overall construction disruption—a critical factor in renovation work. Our technical team engages from the planning phase to ensure the new structure integrates seamlessly with the existing one, addressing key considerations like load paths and connection details.
Our approach is grounded in controlled manufacturing processes and adherence to international standards, including ISO 9001 for quality management and compliance with relevant structural codes. For builders and developers undertaking complex projects like second-story additions, we provide not just materials but a coordinated structural solution designed for buildability, efficiency, and performance.
